ziggy ziggy:

I just threw on some new winter tires about two weeks ago.

I really didn't have a hard time finding them dispite the fact every tire dealer in the city kept telling me "This is our last set" and "you won't be able to get tires this winter if you don't buy them now!". Poppycock.

I have 20" rims and it's had to find all seasons let alone winter tires and I seemed to do ok. I didn't get the yokahamas I wanted but I did end up with a good set of hancooks for a reasonable price.

Did you put the raised white lettering on the inside or outside?

Inside of course, putting the white on the outside of a work truck is like wearing your shirt tucked into your underwear (especailly when you can see them sticking out of your pants).

Actually they didn't have any white lettering so it was an easy choice. Got them studded though which is a first for me and I have to admit I kind of like the studs.

I wasnt sure so I asked the 2 kids at the shop what they would do and they said outside so that's how mine were installed. Then again,it's sometimes a work truck, and sometimes my ride.
But ya,I never thought of it that way.I just wanted tires and quick.

Well the only reason I say that is that I put the whites to the outside on my last truck and the lettering got all buggered up after crossing few soggy bar ditches. Looked terrible. Other than that I really don't care, I think it mattered more to the 16 year old that was working in the shop then it did me  .

Besides I've got semi sort of low profile tires, I'm not sure how they'd look with white lettering.

*I'm not sure if you consider those "low profile" but there not the same as a 17 tire.

They would be better on the inside on that truck. Now if there was a slip tank in the back the letters would look better on the outside. Those tires and rims seem to be the way most are going here, very nice!

My folks gave me an 87 chev beater with brand new studded winters that will fit my truck, might have to try them out.

Ontario was the most effected, if you are from Ontario than good luck getting them. Those who got some got them early before winter before everybody went out to buy them.

I looked at every single Tire store in my area and nobody had any. Everything is sold out.

Why do people wait untill december to buy Winter tire's?

Trying to slip through winter on the all seasons?
Maybe I dont understand because as an Albertan I allways have 4 winter's on just to get to the oil rig in ma back yard in the morning to fuel up my pick me up truck.

Or if I have to hit Billy Joe Bob's hardware for a new merican flag.
