Considering how fast jets are, and because of there training and they get mobilized pretty fast. They had more then enough time to respond to the 2nd Airliner, if not then they definetly had enough time to respond to the third one. Third one hit before they even had a single jet off the ground, that was brutal.

However I usually am one who will post Anti-America comments, if it was true. I do gotta say that this is very nice of them. Although we do have a airforce of our own, idk why they cannot handle it. It is additional defense (Although I am not entirely sure why we need defense?) which is great.

I'm making 2 points:
1) Self-reliance
2) NORAD hasn't got a good track record. The one time it mattered they failed massivley.

so which part of NORAD which you like to blame the Canadians or the Americans?

as for this story..
"Much of the work will be done by Canadian Norad command, though it could draw on the agency's full tool kit, which includes sophisticated surveillance planes."

Blame? I wrote nothing about blame.

there is nothing to debate here. NORAD combines both air forces for the defense of north america. if you read the article (which it looks like most haven't here) it clearly mentions that all ROE's in Canada are decided by the Canadian high command. These CF jokes that were popularized in the 90's are really getting old fast. Try doing a little research on the CF in 2008 rather than making pathetic jokes about the military that puts its ass on the line for your right to say anything no matter how retarded it makes you look.

The british fighter jets have been flying in and out of Calgary for several weeks. It's part of some training initiative to give the pilots at Suffield experience with international airports.

I was thinking about Streaker when I posted this one

haha.... Yeah, I don't like seeing Yank fighters in Canadian airspace, and I don't see how we would need them here anyways.

Why? I don't understand that. We are friends and allies. What could make you not want them in our airspace?

It's degrading to put them in a position where they think they're defending us.

What would they be defending us from that we couldn't defend ourselves from anyways?

That's not degrading, it's called co-operation. I'm not to proud to accept help from any of our allies if they wanted to offer it. The same as when the Americans accepted our help during Katrina, they clearly have more resources than we do but greatly accepted our help.

Team Tinfoil strikes again.
I'd love to see an AWACs up there just to keep an overwatch. I doubt if we'll see aything because most of the terrorists are already here and they don't want to kill the cash cow their milking.
