Right wing blinders.

Thankfully you people on the left are always so insightful.
Where did I say I'm on the left?
$1:
But remember, we're talking hypocrisy here. So what you're saying is that Trudeau voted against the US embargo of Cuba because he, like the Cubans wanted the removal of that"unfair" embargo without concessions which allow the Cuban Gov't to continue with the abuses of their citizens without consequence.
The embargo has been there for 60 years. The human rights issues in Cuba are peanuts compared to the issues facing people in countries that Trump is smoking to pole of. That's real hypocrisy.
$1:
Now, all we have to do is figure out why he turned into a hypocrite because it can only be one of two reasons. The first reason is just to piss the Americans off which is the most logical or, it might be that he chose the totalitarian Castro's who are friends of the family and much admired, over the human rights of the Cuban people. So which is it?
He probably did it to piss of the Americans. It's unnecessary and petty which is why he should have abstained. But I'm not about to assume he doesn't care about human rights because he refused to let the americans twist the resolution to their favour.
$1:
But, it's good to know that he's shown his true colours and was willing to leave the Cuban gov't free to continue with their human right abuses while having the gall to go on TV at the G20 summit and claim that Canada "Canada will "always stand up strongly and clearly for human rights." while choosing to ignore those same rights in Cuba.
You're aware that anything done at the UN with this resolution is non binding right? The entire planet could have voted in the USA favour (including cuba) and Cuba could continue to do whatever it wants. But please, continue to ignore the fact that the content of the amendments had nothing to do with how it was voted on. Keep them blinders on, hack.
$1:
And for that, the whole world can see that when it comes to doing the right thing he won't especially if it means there's a chance he won't get his seat at the UN head table. Here's a list of Cuba's most current human rights violations that quite obviously don't matter to our current Gov't:
https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2018/c ... pters/cubaQuickly reading through, at least half you can say have been perpetrated by the USA in the last 10 years. So I guess we should embargo them too right?
Why are you ignoring the lack of embargo on saudi arabia or Russia for way worse human rights violations?
You're irrational hatred for Trudeau is blinding you to something that's entirely meaningless and innocuous. Grow up.
My hatred for Trudeau has made me blind? I'm sorry I don't hate Trudeau but I do despise his hypocrisy, his virtue signalling and his complete lack of compassion for anything which doesn't make him look good to the United Nations. All of which by the way have sweet fuck all to do with Saudi Arabia or Russia.
We're talking about Cuba here and what Trudeau does or doesn't do with the Saudi's or Russians isn't relevant to what he did to Cuba by voting against reform in exchange for a lifting of the sanctions and then coming out and telling the world that "Canada will "always stand up strongly and clearly for human rights."
But, in the spirit of fair play, here's what I'll do. I'll "grow up" when you learn to be respectful enough to keep your childish recommendations to yourself because, no matter what demeaning suggestions you make to me about my opinions or observations, it's not going to change the fact that I intend to point out Trudeau's continued hypocrisy and duplicity no matter how innocuous and meaningless you think it might be.
Like I said when he first got elected, everytime he or his gov't do anything I feel worth applauding I will give the devil his due. You can go back and check my past posts to verify that but, I have on the very odd occasion (two I think) applauded things he or his Gov't have done. Things like their decision to overrule Corrections Canada and drag that bitch out of a healing lodge and put her back in prison where she belonged. Unfortunately these praise worthy actions have, in my opinion been very few and far between.
Unlike some posters on here I believe that every gov't and leader will, no matter how bad they are, occasionally make the right decisions even if they were done for the wrong reasons. So don't be surprised when in the future I applaud something Trudeau does but, be prepared for more of my pointed observations on he and his gov'ts less than honourable actions and if that bother you to much I'd suggest you put me on ignore.
