We don't need another battle over which religion is worse.

I have failed in my quest to show that it's not 'religion' that does these things, it's 'people'.

Um, I think that's exactly what Thanos and I were saying.

Strange that a lot of people who say that religion does these things are the first to say that guns don't kill people... :?

Religions are composed of people and they do things.

Inanimate objects are typically incapable of independent action.

So you're saying that religion is capable of independent action.

Guns, like religion, are facilitators... and both are the invention of man.

But if I had the choice of ridding the world of one of those things, I'd choose religion any day.

You didn't write much, and I never got that impression from the Muslim thread. In there, it's religion doing bad things all day, every day.

Geez, Ray. Your logical capabilities are really hurting, aren't they?

Conflating an ideology with a weapon?

That's on par with conflating pacifism with a blender.

'Islam' doesn't do a damned thing good or bad. Muslims do plenty of things both good and bad.

Anthropomorphizing a religion into an individual person is pretty absurd.

"The Religion of Peace". How many times have I read that? And Muslims don't do anything good in that thread. And they don't do it because they are Muslims.

Just like this Catholic school, it wasn't because they were Catholic that these things happened. It was because they were assholes. The faith is irrelevant, the people are not.

Just like the excellent point Ray made; guns don't kill people, and religion does not guide their hate filled actions.

and religion does not guide their hate filled actions.

It's just a tool that's used to justify it.

Lots of things can be used for that. Athiests use political correctness, for example.

You've shown us many times that weapons ARE an ideology in the USA.

My logical capabilities are just fine, thank you... how are your comprehension skills? PDT_Armataz_01_27

R=UP
One point though. People can use religion to do evil, but it’s the people doing it, not the religion itself.

If someone wants to find a justification for something, they will.

I can tell the difference between a group of people and an inanimate object.

How 'bout you?

A religion is a group of people or else it's just history.
