karra karra:
Do you know this kid and/or his family?
If not, why would you give a rat's about anything relating to him and his.

Kid drowned - so what - happens all over the world every hour of every day.
Can't imagine why you would want to get personal over a kid you don't know and his circumstances.

Ummm...because I'm human, and I find pictures of dead innocents extremely dismaying.

Regardless if you care about the kid or not, I don't think it's fair to characterize as a greedy, lazy opportunist. On the other hand, thinking of my kids when they were 2 or 3, they may not have been lazy, but they certainly were greedy opportunists.

Zip has his heart in the right place. Don't fault him for having feelings on the matter. I frankly envy him this because I can't find it in me to give a fuck about a drowned Muslim kid who would've been raised to hate whatever Western country would take him in.

My point is that, if my family were living in Syria, and I was on the wrong side of the local warlords, I'd do exactly the same thing these guys are doing.

If my family were living in Syria I'd be fighting for my country, not running away from it and then recreating the shithole I fled in your country.

Why aren't you fighting now then? You've got a crazy Muslim in the White House right now.

That little kid that drowned. He looks maybe 3 or 4. So, just to be clear, you're telling me he's a greedy, lazy opportunist?

Because the media is programmed to bait people like Zippy like that, and they swallow it up.

Photographers have to really hunt to get pics of women and children in the illegal swarms,
because 99% of them are military aged men. Will be lots of terrorists getting through as well.

Not faulting Zip for having feelings about a kid he doesn't know and never will - faulting him for getting personal.

Most of us are human and no doubt his heart is in the right place - but to suggest, however obliquely, that we should all be crying our good selves to sleep at night is somewhat over the top.

Cheers to that. I think PAN was getting personal, classifying all these people as "greedy, lazy opportunists." That's personal to me. The fact is that people will flee this kind of thing. It's not the first time it's happened. Look at all the poor Jews that tried to get out of Europe before WWII. The exodus from Ireland and the Ukraine. It's human nature and it's stupid to blame it on being greedy opportunists.

Martin's right--most are 20-something males. I believe in one boat that landed in Italy, they decided it was too crowded and threw all the Christians overboard. I don't have illusions about that.

But as far as I can tell the solution on the right is to keep an air campaign against ISIS. Guess what--it ain't doing jack shit. What else you got?

Sit back and let the Russians slaughter ISIS down to the last man, woman, and child. They're better equipped for this kind of thing than we are.

Besides, it saves us money if we let Ivan do the dirty work.

The real mistake was trying to get all bully with Assad.. and Ghadafi.. and Mubarak.

This current invasion is the direct result of these complete foreign policy failures.
If anything, all those Syrians should be dumped off at the Statue of Liberty and the cliffs of Dover, because they are the ones responsible for this. Not Hungary, who now has to pay for it.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34133210

$1:
The Turkish coastguard said the migrants had set off from Turkey's Bodrum peninsula for the Greek island of Kos in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but the two boats they were in sank shortly afterwards.

Twelve bodies, including five children, were recovered. Of 23 people on board the two boats, only nine people are thought to have survived - some made it to shore with life jackets.

Hopes are fading for two people people still missing.

The image of the young boy, shown wearing a red T-shirt and lying face-down on the beach near Bodrum, was published shortly after the bodies washed up on shore at about 06:00 local time.

Turkish news agency Dogan said he and the rest of the group were Syrians from the besieged town of Kobane who had fled to Turkey last year to escape advancing militants from the Islamic State (IS) group.

So, let's wait a minute.
There were life jackets, but someone else got them, not the kid.
So the person who decided the kid was expendable is now happily sitting in Greece somewhere.
It wasn't an accident.

Given that the Russian are probably neck deep in supplying ISIS with weapons and money that scenario of yours will never happen. I try not to ever swim through the conspiracist sewer if I can help it but I genuinely believe that Russian involvement exists in everything from 9/11 to Al Qaeda to ISIS and now onto Europe being swamped with bogus refugees from Syria and Iraq. It's a story that's being deliberately suppressed by the media and western intelligence services. Russian intelligence has been involved in the worst things in the world, worse than even what the Nazis got up to, since the days of the last few czars and there's no reason to believe that they're not still doing it today. The czars and the Soviets might be gone but that Ohkrana/Cheka/NKVD/KGB apparatus is still there and it's still causing mayhem all across the world.

Got that right. The Iranians are genuinely bad but they're practically saints compared to the groups that the Saudis are supporting and funding.

The kind of stuff that makes me cold

$1:
"Rome (CNN)Muslims who were among migrants trying to get from Libya to Italy in a boat this week threw 12 fellow passengers overboard -- killing them -- because the 12 were Christians, Italian police said Thursday."

and no this sort of thing is not restricted to this one incident.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/16/europe/it ... overboard/

or...

$1:
"Immigrants in Calais who are desperate to reach Britain have complained to charities that the free food being handed out to them is not spicy enough.

Many were accused of being ‘pampered’ after they rejected the meals offered in northern France by the aid association Salam."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -them.html

In fact...quick call for the fainting couch and a change of panties.

Some of the free food is not even Halal.

You know what's required?

A more humanist progressive attitude.

Yeah right...

There were always problems in Moslem countries. This feeling of entitlement to mass immigration jihad is something new.

Why is that, do you think?

Because the vast majority of these so-called refugees are genuine fucking assholes. Now they're just being assholes in Europe instead of their usual being assholes at home.
