I probably slapped her three times before she hit me back.
what surprises me more is they have let you get away with battery and missed a decent opportunity.

I'd have made a media spectacle of their hypocrisy and they know it.

As it is I contributed to Keltner's early retirement from Sacramento State because she was using the college printing plant and her state email account to produce her shit-disturbing tabloid paper. It was a small but satisfying victory.

Keep it real Thanos....lol

Thanos Thanos:
The effect pacifism had on the British government in the 1920's and '30's was one of the main reasons the British army was so hopelessly outclassed by the Germans when the war finally erupted. That it took until the end of the war to field a tank of their own that was capable of matching even the mid-grade German tanks shows how far behind the curve they were in engineering due to the lack of government financing of R&D in the pre-war years. The pacifists were up to all sorts of bad behaviour during the war too, because it was them who began accusing their own bomber crews of being mass-murderers as early as 1943. George Orwell had a few good comments about what a bunch of cretinous assholes British pacifists were in the war years, with them all safely behind the lines back home in Blighty to do their complaining while other people were getting shot to shit practically everywhere else.

Methinks your a little off on this one old boy.

Britain created the first tank in 1915. Little Willie was produced to roll over the trenches.

WWI produced the first civilian bombing raids and then the cumulation of civilian attack in the sinking of the Lusitania.

Pacifists have never had as much effect as you claim.

The main reason Germany had all these new war toys in WWII was one of a paradigm shift in war tactics. They mechanized war where as the allies never thought the effectiveness was worth the economics.

Tanks , uboats, arial bombing, air war , chemical warfare, massive targeting civilian populations all were first introduced in WWI.

You might have it in for pacifists but keep it real Thanos

Pay some damn attention. I never said WW1, I said 1920's and '30's was when they had their effect. The idiots were preaching their insanity even when Hitler's armies were flooding into Poland.

Would have been nice if anyone in 1930's Germany who felt the same way hadn't already been ground down by the Nazis. Disarm yourself in front of someone like Hitler and you haven't shamed him into behaving nicely. All you've done is succeeded in making yourself into his next, and easiest, victim.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:

I'm not saying there were no pacifists and they was no pressure put on the government.
The people just came out of the war to end all wars.
Of course people did not want another war.
Chamberlain milked it.

My point is thus, pacifist movements have little or no effect on the military.
It was not the pacifists who dictated military tactics and preparedness for war.
Our lack of being on par with Hitler's Germany had everything to do with our military's paradigm and not the cry for peace.
No one including America were putting any effort into mechanizing their armies to the extent of Hitler's Germany.

I'm focused on that aspect of thanos' post.
Blaming our paradigm on pacifists .

I agree with , but I still say it was due to the military's paradigms at the time which led them to dismiss Hitler's military.

Hey Nixon said the number one thing threatening the war in Viet Nam was the peace movement at home.

Not true at all , it was a war that could not be won without the use of the bomb, not unlike our war on terror.
politicians always look for an excuse and the peace movement is a target.
I'm no pacifist look at my views on the war on terror.

You can hear that bit of news about Nixon , among other things like Lenny Bruce dies...etc...here in the background to silent night is the nightly news broadcast at the time.

it gets louder and louder and more clear as the song goes on.
