Lo, when the fart-smelling methane gas bubbles up from the mire of the right-wing swamp of fever, only the truth shall set you free.

Direct from the Marine Corps very own website:

$1:
Marine embassy security guards smashed personal weapons with sledgehammers and scattered them before departing Yemen as the U.S. Embassy was being evacuated this week, officials with Marine Corps Headquarters said.

The officials offered new details of the Marines' departure in the wake of differing reports about what had become of personal weapons the troops had to leave behind before departing the country via the airport at Sanaa. A Pentagon spokesman told reporters Wednesday that Marines handed over the weapons to Yemeni officials before boarding commercial aircraft for departure, while staff with the Sanaa airport told the Associated Press that Houthi rebels had seized U.S. Embassy vehicles, some with weapons inside.

A Marine official with knowledge of the movement told Marine Corps Times on Wednesday that all personal and crew-served weapons had been rendered inoperable, but could not address how they had been made so or how they were disposed of before the Marines departed.

"To be clear: No Marine handed a weapon to a Houthi, or had one taken from him," Marine officials said late Wednesday in a statement.

Crew-served weapons, officials said, were destroyed at the embassy before the Marines departed in accordance with an approved destruction plan.

The Marine embassy detachment then proceeded to the airfield at Sanaa with just their personal weapons.

"Upon arrival at the airfield, all personal weapons were rendered inoperable in accordance with advance planning," officials said in the statement. "Specifically, each bolt was removed from its weapons body and rendered inoperable by smashing with sledgehammers. The weapons bodies, minus the bolts, were then separately smashed with sledgehammers. All of these destroyed components were left at the airport — and components were scattered; no usable weapon was taken from any Marine at Sanaa airport."

The Marines' departure came as the U.S. Embassy closed because of increased instability in Yemen amid takeover by the Shiite Houthi rebels.

Few details so far have been released regarding the choice of evacuation plan for Marines and U.S. Embassy personnel. A detachment of about 100 security Marines from Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Central Command also departed the country as the embassy closed.

As indicated the worst of the rumour-mongering is coming from individuals closely associated with Dick Cheney and Sheldon Adelson. Add in that it's being boosted on FOX should lead the rational person to quickly conclude that they're just lying, as usual.

In any case whether one reported this when it came out...

$1:
A Pentagon spokesman told reporters Wednesday that Marines handed over the weapons to Yemeni officials before boarding commercial aircraft for departure, while staff with the Sanaa airport told the Associated Press that Houthi rebels had seized U.S. Embassy vehicles, some with weapons inside.

or the later version of this...

$1:
A Marine official with knowledge of the movement told Marine Corps Times on Wednesday that all personal and crew-served weapons had been rendered inoperable, but could not address how they had been made so or how they were disposed of before the Marines departed.

"To be clear: No Marine handed a weapon to a Houthi, or had one taken from him," Marine officials said late Wednesday in a statement.

as was stated in the first post of this thread, so what?

It still stinks.

Running naked through the streets, pulling one's hair out and screaming "FOX NEWS! FOX NEWS!" doesn't make Obungles and his crew any less culpable.

But who would you rate as a more trustworthy source? FOX news or the Marine Corps?

I don't understand what you're having a problem with. The news came out one way in the early telling. It was reported. Later, other versions came out. They were reported.

In all versions the Marines were made to turn their guns in to somebody before they left, so again...so what?

And am I only one who noticed that the title story linked in the OP as:

Official: Houthis take U.S. vehicles, weapons in Yemen

is from CNN not Fox?

Megyn Kelly also reported the story as it came out. She reported on both versions as claims continued to be made throughout the day. The left is calling for its smelling salts over Fox's reportage of the same early version CNN offered.

I noticed it too. I'm as curious as you are as to which report is more accurate: CNN's or the Marines? IS CNN trying to make news or is the Corps trying to save face?

News at 11 I guess.

I'll go with the Marines as opposed to some butt-puppet that works for Sheldon Adelson or some propagandist with a long history of contracting out to the communications department for Blackwater.

I think you still don't get it.

All three stories were all reportable as claims. And all three claims were reported by both Gannet Media's Marine Corps Times and Megyn Kelly. I don't know if CNN ever caught up or not.

There was the claim by the pentagon official that the guns had been turned over to the Yemenis, then the claim from Sanaa's airport that guns were turned over to Houthis.

Then, according to Gannet media's Marine Corps times some Marine official (were not sure who) made a claim the guns were somehow smashed and left somewhere.

$1:
A Marine official with knowledge of the movement told Marine Corps Times on Wednesday that all personal and crew-served weapons had been rendered inoperable, but could not address how they had been made so or how they were disposed of before the Marines departed.

I've heard both Megyn Kelly and now Gannet Media's Marine Corps Times report on all three of those claims. Megyn reported on all three, but did so in two installments. So again, what's the problem. Both Fox's Megyn Kelly and Gannet Media's Marine Corps Times are saying the same thing?

All I'm getting out of any of the three reports is, the US Marines had to hand over their personal weapons before leaving Yemen, regardless of whether they were destroyed or not. Seriously? Were they flying out on Emirates or something?

I get the vehicles and crew served weapons being destroyed. Can't take everything with you when you gotta split in a hurry.
