DonnaWho DonnaWho: DrCaleb DrCaleb: I have a friend with a Fennec fox as a pet. It's like having both a dog and a cat in one package. (this is not his fox, but you get the idea) OMG! Omg omg omg. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) My next kitty will either be an F1 Savanna (regular or silver, I don't know, silvers are F5) Cross bred from this cat, an African Serval: ... A Pixie Bob, which is apparently from the unholy pairing of the common Lynx and a housecat. Or a Bengal Cat, which is you might have guessed, an housecat / Bengal tiger cross. Did your head explode from that much cute??

Almost! .. you need it now, like this weekend, and if you got two you could drop one at my house and I could pretend it was a lost and found kitty. ![Drool [drool]](./images/smilies/droolies.GIF)

BartSimpson BartSimpson: commanderkai commanderkai: I'm honestly surprised foxes haven't been domesticated more. I forget who it was but one of our members recently posted a picture of a fox eating from their hand. Seems to me these critters would probably be okay to have around if they want to hang around with us...not much different from cats, really. I'll see if I can find that pic again. My buddy Steve & I were touring around Ft. Mac a few years ago and the family of foxes although skittish at first, did come right up to us and ate french fries from our hands..

DrCaleb DrCaleb: Did your head explode from that much cute?? Twice!!!! OMG, they're gorgeous. All of them. And I agree - cats are FAR less work, while still having a loving little creature around. Great low maintenance pets. A brushing and some Greenies and we have a happy guy for the day.

BRAH BRAH: DrCaleb DrCaleb: Did your head explode from that much cute?? You can seriously have those cats as pets? Yup. Cats crossbreed fairly well. In the first generation {F1} they tend to amplify the docile traits, and later generations {F2, F3 . . } tend to normalize back toward housecat behavior. F1 Savannas are supposed to be very loyal and clingie, like a dog. And can even be walked on a leash! I think it's much more humane to have a house cat/wildcat crossbreed than trying to keep a pet tiger or lion that eats you out of house and home and is likely to kill you when just playing with you. They belong in the wild.

I think those people just had trouble with school education, it's easy to see the difference between fox and cat.

puppy is a very young dog. We had wolf hybrids, both have passed. Beautiful animals, but as I've posted before their personalities were very different even though they looked like very large dogs. The male had a very dog like personality, but he female exhibited more wolf like behaviors.....extremely loyal to us, but she'd 'stalk' adults who came into the yard. A couple friends of my parents were trapped in the bathroom and couldn't get out of their cars. She'd get really low and slow.
