A peaceful demonstration will be enough, especially in Canada, where the government won't put you in jail simply because you express your opinions peacefully. Vandalism is wrong, and illegal.

Does the fact that it was done to the the Support Our Troops flag made it a hate crime?
I'm not saying it does or does not I'm just wondering if that is the reasoning behind it.
