PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9:
Personally, I'm getting sick of schools and school boards dumping the anthem because some fucking immigrant doesn't think their precious little bastard should have to endure hearing the anthem of the country they CHOSE to live in.

From what I've noticed it's usually not immigrants that have a problem with the national anthem in schools it's usually the same middle class white hipster doofus who has a problem with Merry Christmas as well. Who claims to speak on behalf of immigrants.

Saying students will sing and students actually singing are two very different things. I'm betting there'll be a lot less singing than these disconnected school board pinheads hope.

No singing was required when I was in school. We just had to stand or stop moving if we were walking down the halls on the way to class etc.

Why force it?

So people start remembering what fucking country they live in!

It's about damn time people started showing a little more pride in Canada and in being Canadian. If singing the anthem before class each day is too much to ask of one's kid(s), well then maybe Canada has done all it can for them and it's time for them to move on, whether they were born here or not.

It's the National Anthem for cryin' out loud. It's not like we're forcing kids to join scouts as a primer for mandatory military service where we all genuflect before a portrait of "Fearless Leader" every morning and evening whilst chanting "Harper Harper! Uber Alles!".

Canada may not be "the perfect" place to live, but compared to everywhere else, it's still a great place to live. And I think Canadians overall need to start remembering that.

Damn straight.

The ones being forced are the teachers because kids will go along with what they are taught.

Love the rant but disagree. Fact is people have the freedom to participate or not - it's one of those things everyone harps about when they talk about the Vets and World Wars and stuff.

Frankly, if some emo skateboard punk or ginger gansta showin' off his ass crack and freckles, or some Somalian with a chip on his shoulder or another I hate Canada separatist pausing from the latest social temper tantrum doesn't want to sing O Canada, then fuck' em. Be quiet and shut the fuck up.

I honestly don't want our national anthem sullied by the likes of them anyway.

He has a club foot, hair lip, and one ear is about four centimeters lower than the other. Did I mention the webbed feet and explosive gas or the bow legs and superfluous second anus?

Other than that, they guy is a looker!

Me neither that I can recall. Still, my personal opinion, it should have been done in schools to show respect and appreciation for the country we live in.

So, no one has a problem with the fact that this is a Catholic school board, and that the Catholic students have to pray every day, but singing the Anthem is an issue at a Catholic school?

Wow.
