Rhetoric and what about-ery arguments are all what the anti Palestinians have left in their arsenal. Surprising none of them ever comment on the on going land grab.

The strange thing is, I can't find any history of Israel having asked Palestinians for their approval of Israel seeking statehood. But that one was not unilateral, and this one is, and equality of the two states is not something they are interested in and neither is peace.

Their twisty-turny logic is giving me a headache.

Bit too late to go back and give Bavaria to the Jews as compensation. And even with the incessant attacks they're still safer in Israel than they are anywhere else, except maybe for here in North America. Israel ain't going anywhere else, they're armed to the teeth, and they're more than willing to fight to the death. The damn Arabs better get used to it.

Well Israel was born out western guilt and zionist terrorism and what right Britain had to give that peace of land to European Jews who had no connection to it and removing Arabs who generation upon generation had been living on it.

Anyways that's the past and talking about who did what bears no fruit, the question is now and today. The reality is Israel exists today and is not going anywhere, everybody as to deal with that fact and they do and many who don't agree to do so once proper two state solution is implemented will. Infact that has always been a condition to any negotiations

The other issue is not that Israels existence is regocnised but that Israel also acknowledges the existence of Palestine, a point almost always ignored by the Anti Palestinian debaters.

And Andy I am not talking about the land captured during the war like the Golan heights but the constant expansion into land that does not belong to it.

A) A because they could.

B) The Arabs stole the land from the Byzantine Empire in the 7th century under similar conditions. By that logic, maybe they should hand it to Greece (the successor state, more or less) if Israel has to hand the land back to the Arabs. Makes as much sense of handing the Caledonia, Ontario to the Mohawks, as Gunnair pointed out earlier.

The British won the First World War, of which the Ottoman Empire joined the losing state and disintegrated in the 1920s. Thus France and the United Kingdom assumed administration of the regions in the formerly Ottoman Middle East. It was therefore their land to dispose of as they saw fit, as was the case for the myriad of empires that held the land from the Babylonians to the Persians to the Macedonians and so forth.
