Curtman Curtman: ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: Awwww, I'm so hurt. It's not too late for you to go back to high school and learn some real history, and maybe even get your diploma. Yeah. Because historical events are a great excuse to commit atrocities today. The Nazi's thought it was perfectly fine to gas people they didn't like. Maybe the Israeli's should try that. Idiot. Idiot? The shit you're coming out with would be like calling the nazis the victims. Oh yeah, those poor Palestinians. They started the shit with Israel, have kept at it for 65 years and now we should feel sorry for them because Israel has been clamping down on them? You really are a left-tard some days.

commanderkai commanderkai: Curtman Curtman: You and GOMC over there make a good team. Who's GOMC? Grumpy Old Man Club. Shep is its president. It has very few members these days, it's been nice. commanderkai commanderkai: As Shep said, we don't see Turkey, Russia, China, Morocco, etc etc etc returning land they conquered and annexed, let alone stopping their development of said lands. It's just rather interesting that leftists only ever bring up Israel. If Stephen Harper, and John Baird were out there shouting about how much of a miracle Russia is, you'd think it was very f*cking strange too probably.

This has nothing to do with Harper, but everything to do with you. Why aren't YOU screaming about illegal annexations and settlements in Cyprus? It's highly particular you only focus on the Israelis, why is that? Why should Israel somehow give up it's territorial gains when you don't harp on any other state to do the same? Oh, and answer the questions. Don't try to dodge.

Curtman Curtman: Uh huh. It was British land in 1946. I'm highly amused how they also included uninhabited wastelands as Palestinian, as well as the lands owned by the Syrians and other non-British Mandate of Palestine residents. Also how Tel Aviv is somehow "Palestinian" as well. Oh, but, when you use pro-Palestinian sources, talk about Israel making air raids into "residential neighborhoods", try to make some moral equivalence between Irgun and Palestinian terrorist groups that are operating today, we centre-right, Israel supporters are the extremist. Sure. Right. You're certainly not biased at all, and certainly didn't pick a side in this issue. You're completely neutral

Oh, and answer the questions. Don't try to dodge. Curtman Curtman: Well, it's none of my business what they do to each other until my government pledges allegiance to one of them on my behalf. Clearly Israel has used up its victim status. 138 to 9 is very decisive. Pretty soon it'll just be Canada and Micronesia until the Harperites leave Ottawa. This has everything to do with Stephen Harper kissing Israel's ass at every opportunity. Curtman Curtman: The Germans asked for a commitment about settlement expansion, and they didn't even respond. I dont think anyone asked for even removal of checkpoints let alone full withdrawal, or removing the blockade. Israel's supporters asked them to make some kind of gesture about settlements. The U.S. offered them F-35's. They are actively pushing Palestine into the sea, and refuse to consider an alternative. 138 to 9, and Steven Harper put us decidedly in the 9. This makes me angry.

That's the issue the world has said no to.

Curtman Curtman: EyeBrock EyeBrock: This has become (predictably) a thread of taking ideological and partisan sides.
Most right- of-centre people are behind Israel, the lone democracy in the whole of the Middle East. Most left-of-centre people support the misogynistic, anti-gay, anti-democratic, theocratic dictatorships that want to wipe out all the Jews.
I’ve never understood why Lefties support these guys that spout about everything the Left are against daily. Those of us in the centre don't understand why you extremists think you need to choose a side rather than support equality for both. That's pretty funny Curt!

desertdude desertdude: martin14 martin14: There is no deflection here.
I posted I didn't believe the PA could do anything with the ICC,
they have no jurisdiction.
If you can prove otherwise, please do.
If not, then ..... True it cannot implement measures like sanctions or military action or anything close to it as it stands now, but it does put a lot of diplomatic pressure on Israel and its already failing image on the global stage. It would be another diplomatic victory for the PA and if for some reason US for a change does not Veto any recommendations the ICC might make, there actually could be measures taken against Israel, although far fetched as long as the US is Israel's bitch but I am thinking there only so much shit even the US can take from Israel before they get tired of it, like snubbing them by refusing the F35 for freezing the settlements deal and now the announcement of 3000 new announcements and E1 making the US like a complete idiot for backing Israel in the No vote. And lets not try to make it not big deal again like the UN vote, because if it wasn't such a big deal. Israel and its lackies wouldn't be in such panty twist over it. http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/ar ... 0048b7.891 EyeBrock EyeBrock: Save it dude, for someone who cares, I heard you barking about this a million times before and its gotten to the point that its not even funny anymore Hardly barking DD. You picked sides long ago. We know the Muslim view from Dubai. You support the motorbike-dragging-body guys and I don't.

Martin has told us about how recognition of Israel brought Irgun to Likud. Recognition for Palestine can bring Hamas to PA, maybe.
